Photos from the Rainbow Realm

For one magical night at Meow Wolf Denver, Give Us The Floor (GUTF) went IRL with a special community gathering celebrating 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and creativity. The first-ever Rainbow Realm event brought together queer youth from all over the Colorado area to honor the winners of the Proud To Be youth art challenge while also making friends over Meow Wolf’s upcycled maker’s station, video game lounge, decked out photo booth, and of course, exploration through their wildly fun Convergence Station immersive art experience.

Emceed by the incredible indigenous scholar and influencer Charlie Amáyá Scott, the event opened with Charlie leading the room in a land acknowledgement words of inspiration before they turned it over to GUTF Marketing Manager Kat Eves to remind everyone to look around the room and recognize that this room was filled their a supportive community. Local drag queen Ophelia Peaches also shared words of encouragement and introduced fellow influencers, fashion designer Kristi Siedow-Thompson (who led the Maker’s Station) and photographer Jas K (who snapped photos with Ophelia in the photo booth area) before attendees officially kicked off the fun.

Over at the Maker’s Station, Ru Paul’s Drag Race winning designer Kristi Siedow-Thompson helped attendees cut, wrap, bend, and mold fun art pieces together from art scraps provided by Meow Wolf’s own creative team.

Throughout the night, images of the creative works by the winners of the Proud To Be queer youth art challenge were on display on screens flanking both sides of the stage. The winners were asked to come up on stage for a round of applause from the room and photo together with all of the influencers.

No event would be complete without a fun photo booth, and Jas K and Ophelia Peaches were there as confidence coaches and pose directors. Here are just a few of the fun photos from the night! See Jas K’s full gallery here.

Of course, this whole event wouldn’t have been possible without the beyond generous support of our incredible donors, Meow Wolf and the Colorado Health Foundation.
