New Case Study on GUTF
Connected Wellbeing has published a case study about Give Us The Floor (GUTF) and our innovative approach to supporting young people’s mental health. In this case study, Connected Wellbeing, an organization focused on promoting mental health and wellness through peer-driven solutions, explores the impact of our work in creating a safe space where youth can find support, connect, and thrive.
The case study was produced in partnership with Give Us The Floor and the Connected Learning Lab at UC Irvine, with the support of Brian Cross, research consultant; Mimi Ito, Connected Learning Lab Director at UC Irvine; and Krithika Jagannath, postdoctoral scholar at UC Berkeley’s Institute of Human Development. We also thank the communications and web team at the Connected Learning Alliance for their work on layout and design.
A few highlights:
Power of Peer Support: The study highlights how our peer-led groups help reduce stigma around mental health by fostering authentic, relatable conversations. Young people find comfort and understanding in sharing their experiences with peers who face similar struggles.
Inclusive and Safe Environment: Connected Wellbeing emphasizes GUTF’s commitment to creating a safe space, with age-matched groups that allow teens to connect in ways and that feel natural and secure.
Social Approach: The case study notes our emphasis on using social media as an effective tool for reaching, educating, and supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ and allies.
We’re honored to be recognized by Connected Wellbeing and are excited to continue making a difference in the lives of young people. Check out the full case study here to learn more about the impact we’re making together!
