Give Us The Floor Wins Morgan Stanley Mental Health Innovation Award

We’re honored to share that Give Us The Floor (GUTF) has been named a recipient of the prestigious Morgan Stanley Mental Health Innovation Award! This award is a testament to our commitment to transforming mental health support for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth by providing them with safe, peer-led group chats through our free mobile app. The award recognizes organizations leading the way in innovative approaches to children’s mental health, supporting projects that make a meaningful difference in young lives.

Our work at GUTF focuses on addressing the mental health challenges that so many teens face, especially within marginalized communities. Through our unique model, young people connect with trained peer leaders in small, age-matched groups, where they can openly discuss their experiences, share resources, and support one another without judgment. This model has proven effective: over 90% of our members report a significant reduction in feelings of isolation and an increased sense of belonging.

The Morgan Stanley award will allow us to expand our impact by enhancing our app and extending our services to include youth and young adults up to ages 24 (currently, we serve youth ages 13-19). With this support, we’ll be able to reach even more young people and offer them a space where they can be themselves, connect authentically, and feel empowered in their mental health journeys.

We are deeply grateful to Morgan Stanley for recognizing the importance of youth-led, community-driven mental health support. This award fuels our mission and will help us continue to make a positive difference in the lives of young people nationwide.
