Give Us The Floor Welcomes New Board Member Trey Leveque
Give Us The Floor is thrilled to welcome Trey Leveque to our Board of Directors. Trey brings a rare blend of public policy expertise, philanthropic insight, and cross-sector leadership to our mission, with a career built around a single throughline: strengthening the connections that help people, especially young people, to thrive. We're honored to have his vision and experience guiding us as we grow.
A recent graduate from the Harvard Kennedy School with a Master's in Public Policy, Trey’s work spans public policy, philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, and cross-sector partnerships, with a focus on creating initiatives that foster belonging and improve well-being. His passion for strengthening social connection and leveraging the power of the arts to build a more connected world inspired him to found Muse Collaborative, a nonprofit that supports creatives and designs experiences that transform shared moments into a sense of belonging.
Previously, Trey served as Engagement Chief of Staff in the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General, where he led national engagement efforts on major public health priorities, including the epidemic of loneliness and the youth mental health crisis. Most recently, he served as a Senior Fellow at Young Futures, where he supported funder stewardship and strategic partnerships focused on making the digital world easier for young people to grow up in. He also served as a Social Connection Fellow at the Foundation for Social Connection, helping to evaluate programs and partnerships that advance social connection nationwide. In addition, he serves on the Strategic Advisory Board for the NYU Stern Initiative on Purpose and Flourishing, contributing strategic and operational guidance to advance the Initiative's mission.
“I was first introduced to Give Us The Floor through my work with Young Futures and immediately admired the organization’s bold commitment to centering youth voices and creating spaces where 2SLGBTQIA+ young people can experience belonging, connection, and hope. As a gay man myself, I often think about how meaningful it would have been to have a community like Give Us The Floor growing up. That personal connection, combined with my professional commitment to advancing social connection and youth well-being, makes this mission deeply meaningful to me.
Throughout my career — from supporting youth engagement through Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher Initiative to leading national engagement efforts on loneliness and youth mental health in the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General — I have been committed to helping young people thrive. I bring lived experience and perspective that complement my background in strategy, philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, partnerships, and public policy. I am excited by the opportunity to help Give Us The Floor continue to increase its impact, expand access to life-changing peer support, and ensure that more 2SLGBTQIA+ youth know they are seen, valued, and never alone.”
Born and raised in Arizona, Trey has also earned three Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business (Global Politics), Business (Law), and Business (Public Service & Public Policy) from Arizona State University's W. P. Carey School of Business, along with a Cross-Sector Leadership Certificate from the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions. We are so grateful to have his wisdom and vision on our Board!
